Application of Organic Peroxide Cured Agent DCP in Crosslinking of Silicone Rubber

2023-05-15

The application of DCP in silicone rubber crosslinking is mainly reflected in its use as a crosslinking agent, which has the characteristics of low price and low production cost. At the same time, the silicone rubber products produced have good dielectric properties and high operational safety. DCP, namely dicumyl peroxide, is one of the most commonly used organic peroxide vulcanizing agent, suitable for natural or synthetic rubber, silicone rubber crosslinking, including thermoplastic polyolefin crosslinking. Because of its low price, it is widely used in industrial production. Although DCP is granular powder, it is difficult to disperse and has a high odor, but this does not hinder its application in silicone rubber crosslinking.

When using DCP vulcanized silicone rubber, the vulcanization temperature is generally between 150 and 160 degrees Celsius, which is suitable for various vulcanization methods, such as molding, thick products, carbon black mixed rubber, steam vulcanization, bonding, etc. These properties make DCP an ideal choice for silicone rubber crosslinking, especially in production environments that require high efficiency and low cost.

In addition, although the DCP vulcanizing agent has its limitations, such as difficulty in dispersion and odor problems, these limitations are accepted to a certain extent due to its good dielectric properties, high operating safety, and low cost. In practical applications, through proper process control and the use of additives, these problems can be effectively solved to ensure product quality and production safety.
